Mr. Toru Takeda

Mr. Toru Takeda is the pioneer of the writable DVD technology still in use today, regarded as the “Brain of Sony” and a leading figure in the advancement of technological innovation in Japan.
He has held positions such as the General Manager of Technology Strategy Evaluation at NTT’s research institution and Sony Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Sony), where he was responsible for evaluating internal technology development projects. Subsequently, he served as a Technical Fellow at Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings and the Information and Electronics Division of Mitsubishi Chemical. He has also been a professor at Tohoku University and has held the position of Chief Technology Evaluator for investment institutions of Japan’s four national universities (such as the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, and Tohoku University).
His publications include “Success and Failure of Innovation” (Dobunkan Publishing), among others.
