At the “Pipit Cart” experience corner, we showcased the “AliveCam® + Face Recognition Gate”.
To meet the demand for labor-saving and unmanned solutions in retail, we offered an experience where participants could exit using facial recognition at retail stores and event venues. This edge facial recognition system, which requires no server and can be deployed from a single unit, has garnered significant interest, particularly among retail industry professionals.
The system integrates with Axis Communication’s video management system ACS (Axis Camera Station) and Kumahira’s security gates, allowing registered visitors to pass through the gates accompanied by their carts using facial recognition.
Over 500 visitors tried the facial recognition system firsthand. Many were astonished by the new experience of having the gate open instantly with their own face and repeatedly attempted the process, showing great curiosity about the workings of the facial recognition gate.
